The inception of Hornbill Restaurant materialised when six enthusiastic and free-spirited youths namely Saranjit Hijam, Rakesh Singha, Amar Thangjam, Raj Rai, Rameshwar Hijam and Khevito Elvis, all hailing from North-East India came together to open a unique kind of restaurant – a restaurant that serves authentic Naga cuisine dishes at affordable prices. It is located in one of quintessential South Delhi locality – Safdarjung Enclave. These dynamic owners succeeded in creating a perfect Naga restaurant where everybody can come and eat frequently without a worry for fat bills.
Hornbill Restaurant serves a variety of authentic Naga cuisine home-cooked food ranging from smoked-pork to fresh pork with bamboo shoot. The menu is operated by chef Khevito Elvis along with his sous-chefs Rocci Patton and Bokaho. Some of its popular dishes are smoked pork with sesame seed, frizzled pork, pork with seasonal vegetables, hornbill fish fry and liver fry. Dishes like pork thali, fish thali, chicken thali, pork with bamboo shoot, smoked pork with bamboo shoot and pork with khollar are available on an everyday basis. Their smoked-pork dish is a must try.
All the dishes are prepared with an authentic touch of Naga Home-cooked food aroma where they serve all the dishes in traditional Naga wooden platters and bowls. The restaurant does true justice to Naga cuisine. The ambience of the restaurant is structured with a touch of Naga tradition.
This wi-fi free restaurant is planning on opening chains of Hornbill restaurant in the years to come. Their next ambitions in line is to open Hornbill restaurant in Guwahati, Bangalore and another branch in Delhi. The restaurant is open on all days from 12:30 PM – 10:30 PM.
