This Guwahati girl has reached the Quarter Finals of Masterchef UK

Guwahati’s Sweta Tapan Choudhury becomes the first Assamese to reach the quarter finals of MasterChef UK 2018 telecasted on BBC One.

She is one of the contestants of the Masterchef UK series 14 and the first Assamese to compete on the show.

Sweta is an aspiring chef and student and is currently a resident of London.

Sweta is pursuing her PHD in Poilitics and International Relations at King’s College London.

As a contestant of the very popular TV show, Shweta had presented cuisines like ‘Assamese Prawn Curry with Steamed Ghee Rice’ which was hit in the show.

Praising her recipe John Torode, one of the celebrity judges of the show said, “If it was in a restaurant and it was on the menu, I would order it gain.”

Who is Sweta Choudhury?

swetaSweta Choudhury is an aspiring chef and student. She is originally from Gauhati, India and lives in London.

Sweta is currently studying for a PHD in Politics and International Relations at King’s College London. On her Facebook profile she also describes herself as a swimmer and peace activist.

When did Sweta Choudhury appear on Masterchef 2018?

Sweta Choudhury appeared on the 14th series of Masterchef on March 8, 2018. She cooked a traditional Assamese prawn curry with steamed ghee rice.

Judge John Torode praised her dish saying “If it was in a restaurant and it was on the menu, I would order it again.”

Sweta will now progress to the quarter finals.
