Police have arrested a man for selling his two daughters to buy heroin in Churachandpur town, 65 km from Imphal.
Thangchinmang (41), a drug addict, was arrested on Thursday after some NGOs informed the cops about him selling his daughters, aged four and five, to two women from Moirang in Bishnupur district for Rs 30,000 on July 1.
Police said the girls were rescued from two different places in Moirang on Thursday. Reports said Thangchinmang, a native of Churachandpur, had taken Rs 10,000 in advance on July 1 and was yet to get the remaining Rs 20,000 from the two women.
