Paul Walker’s life is being commemorated in Wiz Khalifa’s new music video. The video for the 27-year-old rapper’s latest single “See You Again,” which is featured on the Furious 7 soundtrack, debuted today, and the touching clip is a beautiful tribute to the late actor, who tragically passed away in a car crash in November 2013 at the age of 40. Footage of Walker from the most recent film, as well as the six others from the past 14 years, is featured in the video, which honors Walker’s legacy in the beloved film series and shows his comradery with his castmates.
Charlie Puth, who sings on the track, tweeted about the video’s release in addition to sharing kind words for Walker. “7 million hits in 2 hours. i know you are watching down on all of us paul, the whole world is thinking of you,” he wrote.
A link to Walker’s charity, Reach Out Worldwide, is also included in the clip and thus far, over $400,000 has been raised. The music video comes just three days after Furious 7 hit theaters, shattering box office records with a reported $143.6 million debut in the U.S.
“This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real,” Vin Diesel told fans at a recent Furious 7 screening. “When the tragedy happened I lost my best friend, I lost my brother.” He added: “Thanks for being my family. Thanks for always taking care of us. Thanks for believing in us. You know what’s most important in life. We made this movie from our hearts and know that this is our gift to you and more importantly, to my brother.”
