PICTURE SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS – THE SITUATION OF UKHRUL 30th July, 2014.
The Tangkhul Naga Long had organized an event, PRAYER FOR ‘JUST PEACE’ at Tangkhul Naga Long Ground, Ukhrul on 30th July 2014. The program was suppose to go as per the details below:
As the people were marching towards the venue, hundreds of COMMANDOS & IRBs puts up barricades at different intersections and the main gate of the venue to prevent the public from coming and saying a prayer. The peace prayers are for the Indian and Naga Leaders and the On-going Peace Talk.
It is clear that Manipur Chief Minister does not want the people of Ukhrul and the Naga at large to have peace. It’s his politics of disturbing the ongoing Indo-Naga Peace Talk.
It is worth mentioning, that the Section 144 CrPC was promulgated at Ukhrul Headquarter since 13 July 2014.
The situation in Ukhrul is clearly a case of militarization.
Can’t the people gather to pray for peace?
Few people made it through the BARRICADE and gathered inside the Ground and had a PRAYER FOR JUST PEACE as per the plan.
We salute them for their courage and bravery. Let Peace & Truth prevail!
